Thuyloi University welcomed Tsinghua University’s delegation
On the afternoon of July 24, Thuyloi University had a reception and worked with representatives of Tsinghua University, China on potential training cooperation between the two universities.
The delegation of Tsinghua University visiting Thuyloi University included Prof. Liu Zhaowei from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and students from the practice team of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering.
On behalf of Thuyloi University, there was the participation of Assoc.Prof. Ho Sy Tam - Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation and representatives of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Water Resources Engineering.
At the beginning of the meeting, Assoc.Prof. Ho Sy Tam expressed his gratitude to Tsinghua University for taking the time to work with Thuyloi University. The Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation briefly introduced the scale and strengths of Thuyloi University, domestic training programs, international training cooperation and exchange programs, etc. He also expressed his desire to have the opportunity to cooperate in training and research with Tsinghua University.
On behalf of Tsinghua University, Prof. Liu Zhaowei also gave some general information about the University and especially the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. Tsinghua University is known as the leading university in Natural Sciences, Technology and Engineering in China. The Department of Hydraulic Engineering was founded in 1952, ranked first nationwide in the comprehensive ranking of majors organized by the Ministry of Education of China in 2003, and was also identified as a national key major in the first round in 2007.
In addition, Assoc.Prof. Ho Sy Tam shared about irrigation works, which require a lot of funding to build and maintain the works. He also shared that Vietnam is one of the countries that have strong research in the field of climate change. Representing the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Dung introduced the training majors in the Faculty and also AI applications in Irrigation. She also shared her hope for more cooperation with Tsinghua University in the future.
At the end of the meeting, Assoc.Prof. Ho Sy Tam thanked Tsinghua University for taking the time to visit and discuss with TLU and hoped that the two sides would be able to cooperate in the near future in research and training.
