1. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR TACKLING CLIMATE CHANGE AND CONTROLLING SYSTEM (AICOST).

Research directions:
- Analysing and predicting the damage of a disaster; Developing automatic disaster warning systems (for fires, flash flood, landslide, etc. with the data collected from satellite images, rainfall, topography); Proposing prevention measures of disasters risk reduction
- Using AI models or AI/Hydrology/Hydraulic models combined with satellite images and GIS tools to forecast and warn flood, drought, salt intrusion.

4. GIS AND REMOTE SENSING APPLICATION (GRAT)
Key words: Water resources
Research directions:
- Appling remote sensing to assess and forecast changes in land cover, land use and drought for big cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Mekong Delta and Central region.
- Researching and developing solutions to use traffic camera systems to monitor and warn urban floods
- Using drones combined with fixed cameras for multi-scale evaluation to assess immediate flooding and subsidence for big cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta. Besides, drone technology can be applied to conduct surveys of project areas (scope, area, 3-dimensional model, etc.)
- Using images from fixed cameras, drones and satellite images combined with mathematical models to evaluate the morphology of estuaries, shorelines and reservoir sediments.
- Using remote sensing data, drone-support mathematical models to evaluate flooding in big cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, etc.
