Inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese – German joint master’s program in Integrated Water Resources Management

(TLU) – On 8 November, the inauguration ceremony of the second batch of Vietnamese – German joint master’s program with Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Germany (TH Kohn -Cologne University of Applied Sciences) took place at Thuyloi University.

Since 2020, Thuyloi University has cooperated with Vietnam Academy for Water Resources (VAWR) and TH Kohn - University of Applied Sciences (TH Kohn) to implement the master’s program in Integrated Water Resources Management with a wider range of students and more options for study and exchange. The 1st batch was very hard affected by COVID pandemic. Nevertheless, the course has been implemented with good progress thanks to great effort from all faculty staff here in Vietnam and there in Germany and very importantly from the students who are now in third term and enjoying new life in Cologne. To continue the success of ongoing 1st batch, 10 students are delighted to be enrolled in the 2nd intake.

Attending the inauguration ceremony, there were Prof. Stefan Hase Bergen - Director of DAAD in Vietnam; representatives of Vietnam Academy for Water Resources and Thuyloi University; especially with the online participation of professors and 1st batch students who has lived and studied in Koln, Germany.

Inauguration ceremony lived at Thuyloi University and was online via Zoom with the participation of all leaders, lecturers and students

This program has been developed with financial support from DAAD, with the aims of training scientific and technical staff in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management, Natural Resources Management and Development according to international standards, serving the natural resources exploitation and management in particular and the national economy in general. Following this course, students have the opportunity to study and research at TH Kohn for 1 or 2 semesters.

Prof. Stefan Hase Bergen, Director of DAAD in Vietnam delivered the scholarships to outstanding students as the sponsor of the Program and emphasized this program as successful collaboration in education between Vietnam and Germany

Mr. Le Minh Hoan, student representative of first batch shared that he had been inspired and motivated through international learning environment. After learning for two semesters in Vietnam, now he has been keeping up studying in Germany for next semesters.
