Thuyloi University held an online signing ceremony for Memorandum of Understanding with Keimyung University, Republic of Korea

(TLU) – On 22 October 2020, for the first time, Thuyloi University officially signed online Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keimyung University, Korea.

With the common goal of developing foreign affairs and expanding international cooperation in training and scientific research, TLU and KMU have agreed to officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding. This officially marks the good start of the cooperative relationship between the two universities. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the representatives from two universities could not meet to conduct the ceremony in person, the MOU signing ceremony was held online on October 22, 2020.

Attending the signing ceremony from KMU were Prof. Synn IIhi – President; Prof. Kim Seonjung – Dean of International Office and representatives from Center for International Affairs, Center for International Cooperation and KCL Company. From TLU, there were Prof. Trinh Minh Thu – President, Prof. Nguyen Trung Viet and the leadership of relevant departments and faculties.

To open the ceremony, Prof. Trinh Minh Thu thanked deeply for the efforts and goodwill of the partner. After a brief introduction about the TLU, Prof. Thu expressed his aspiration with KMU to develop high-quality human resource, especially in the two disciplines of Automotive Engineering and Business Administration. It would contribute to the development of cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in research, training and academic exchange.

In response, Prof. Synn IIhi - President of KMU also confirmed that: ”The signing ceremony today is extremely important because in the difficult epidemic situation, both universities have made great efforts in the process of working, exchanging cooperation and organizing a successful online ceremony. Currently, KMU also has Vietnamese students studying and researching at the university. Therefore, it can be said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will mark the official cooperation between the two universities, promising to develop in the future not only the relationship between the two universities but also create more opportunities for Vietnamese students in Korea and vice versa ”.

After the Presidents of the two universities signed the MoU for cooperation in training, research and academic exchanges, the representatives of the two sides discussed on the affiliated training program (2+2) with 02 majors of  Automotive Engineering and Business Administration. In addition, scholarship programs for Masters and PhDs; exchange students, lecturers; Cooperation in research and transfer of advanced technologies as well as co-organization of international conferences and seminars were also encouraged in the process of cooperation between the two universities.
