Seven technical universities signed comprehensive cooperation agreement on enrollment, training, scientific research, and technology transfer under the witness of the Deputy Minister of Education and Training – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son.

Presidents of seven leading technical universities signed comprehensive cooperation agreement

On the morning of 22 January, 7 leading universities specialized in technical training including: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology (the University of Da Nang), University of Science and Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), University of Transport and Communications, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, National University of Civil Engineering and Thuyloi University signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement.

The agreement on enrollment, training, scientific research, technology transfer, educational quality assurance and accreditation, seminars organization and communication has supported and improved efficiency, development strategy of each university. The group of seven universities will form a pioneering technical group in teaching, research, innovation and digital transformation.

Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu - President of TLU expected that this cooperation will open up many opportunities for deeper, stronger and more comprehensive connection. It then will be actively contributing to the development and growth of partners in the future.  The TLU is committed to responsible cooperation within the sector and promoting its strengths to contribute to the universities’ development.

In term of training, the Universities agreed to share experiences and co-operate in the development of the undergraduate training program and the professional technical training program. Along with that, a model to co-guide students, graduate students in their dissertations, thesis will be built up, shared and exploited digital resources in the library.

Regards to quality assurance, the 7 universities agreed to cooperate on self-assessment, peer assessment, external assessment and sharing of experiences in quality accreditation of training programs, educational institutions by national and international accreditation organizations.

Moreover, the international scientific conferences will be coordinated to organize. The Universities will jointly implement interdisciplinary research programs, and international cooperation in order to enhance mutual international scientific publication among universities.

In particular, the 7 universities agreed to build programs of innovation, technology transfer, forming a joint Startup and Spin-off company on the basis of achieved research cooperation, powerful application of digital transfer in management, teaching, and research. Besides, the above cooperation also helps the society and learners to better understand the important role of science and technology in the economic development of the country, helping the Universities perform better on their teaching, research and transfer.

Witnessing the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son appreciated the cooperation initiative and efforts of the 7 universities. Deputy Minister hoped that this comprehensive cooperation agreement not only brings benefits to participating universities, but also creates a driving force for other technical universities and the higher education system. In the coming years, the 7 universities will pioneer in building standard training programs for undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines.

At the end of the signing ceremony, the Presidents of 7 universities highly appreciated the cooperation contents, in line with the key tasks of higher education in the 2021-2025 period and in accordance with the orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training. All 7 universities show their determination to best implement the cooperation contents. At the same time, it is believed that this cooperation will promote 7 universities fulfill their pioneering missions in teaching, research, transfer, and innovation.

Every year, the 7 universities will identify specific cooperation issues for implementation and assign host universities in 7 universities to coordinate
