Ugandan Delegation Visits and Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Thuyloi University
On the morning of December 3rd, a delegation from two universities in Uganda (Busitema University and Nkumba University) visited Thuyloi University for discussions and the signing of an MoU on collaboration in education and research
With the proposal and support for connection from the Vietnam-Africa Economic Cooperation Alliance (VAECA), the delegation from Ugandan universities (including Busitema University and Nkumba University) visited Thuyloi University for a tour, discussions, and the signing of an MoU to strengthen cooperation in training and scientific research with the university on December 3rd.

The delegation from Uganda included Ambassador Kayemba Benon – Head of Delegation, Head of Consular service, MOF; Prof. Lubega Thaddeus Jude – Vice Chancellor, Nkumba University; Prof. Kamba Pakoyo Fadhiru – Vice Chancellor, Busitema University; Hon. Kataike Sarah Ndoboli – President’s office, Operations Wealth Creation; Ms. Namukose Susan Lubogo – President’s Private Secretary, State House. In addition, there were representatives of the Vietnam - Africa Economic Cooperation Union including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Phuoc Minh – President of VAECA; Dr. Le Quy Kha – Vice President of VAECA and some other members of the Union.
On behalf of Thuyloi University, there were Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu – President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai – Vice President; Representatives of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, Department of Academic Affairs and Representatives of the Faculties of the University.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Le Quang Tuan – Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation, on behalf of the University’s Board of Directors, extended greetings to the Ugandan delegation and the VAECA delegation and introduced the participants from both sides.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu expressed his gratitude to the delegation for taking the time to visit and collaborate with Thuyloi University. He also expressed his joy at the opportunity to sign the MoU, which aims to expand and strengthen cooperation in training and research between the universities. Furthermore, the President introduced existing partnership programs in education and research with universities and enterprises worldwide and hoped to build and expand collaboration with Ugandan universities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Phuoc Minh, President of VAECA, also shared insights into the alliance’s role in promoting cooperation between Vietnam and African nations, particularly in the field of education. He expressed his hope that this relationship would serve as a solid bridge for the sustainable development of both sides.


Representatives from Busitema University and Nkumba University provided an overview of the history, scale, and academic programs of their institutions, while also extending an invitation for Thuyloi University to visit their campuses and explore the learning environment in Uganda.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Thuyloi University, Busitema University, and Nkumba University was successfully conducted. All parties committed to striving for effective and sustainable cooperation in the future, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Uganda in the field of education and scientific research.
