TLU' project wins third prize on a contest of the 2020 National Startup Day for Students

The 2020 National Startup Day for Students, SV.Startup, was held successfully at Thuyloi University on December 22-23, with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam in attendance. The project “Organic dishwashing liquid, Sapowash” won 3rd prize among 72 oustanding startup projects entering the final of the contest.

The start-up contest is aimed at students from 12 to 24 years old. This year's competition was held nationwide with more than 400 participating universities, colleges, high schools and secondary schools; reaching nearly 20 million students. The contest was launched in July and received nearly 600 entries, double the number in 2019. It was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with the Thuyloi University and Nova Edu Company.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Mimister appreciated the change in mindset at many universities, which has led to greater attention being paid to research and the promotion of innovative startups among students, and urged universities to help students sharpen their startup and teamwork skills and encourage them to expand their networks and share startup ideas.

At the end of the contest, the jury decided to award 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes for 2 groups. In which, the first prize of 60 million VND in cash was presented to the project “Agricultural residue, a resource for packaging paper” of. The project will receive a support package with a value of 115 million VND and a chance to vie for an additional 40,000 USD in investment.

HCMC University of Technical and Education’ students win 1st prize

The Sapowash organic dishwashing liquid project of TLU’ student won the third prize. This was also one of the projects highly appreciated by the committee for practical applicability and environmental friendliness. The project received 20 million VND in cash.

TLU’ project win 3rd prize

Dak Lak Department of Education and Training achieved first prize with 30 million VND in cash for a project on producing organic drinking straws from avocado seeds.

The 2020 National Startup Day for Students has ended, making many good impressions on the host organiser, Thuyloi University. HCMC University of Technical and Education will be the host of the event in 2021.
