Attending to welcome the delegation was Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai - Vice President and representatives of relevant departments and faculties. On Deakin University's side, there was the attendance of the Professor Bas Baskaran - Vice Rector in charge of International Relations led the delegation along with representatives of the management of partner programs and representatives of the Vietnamese side of Deakin University.

Deakin University is ranked in the top 1 percent of universities worldwide (Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 2024). In recent years, thanks to efforts to improve the quality of academic teaching and increase cooperation, Deakin University has risen to be in the top 200 schools in the world according to the QS World University Rankings.

Thuyloi University and Deakin University began exchanging visits and discussing the possibility of cooperation in training and scientific research since 2016. After many meetings and discussions, Thuyloi University and Deakin University signed a university-level Memorandum of Understanding in April 2018. Since then, many cooperation activities, exchanges and visits between the two schools have continued to be implemented. With the purpose of deeper exchange on training and scientific research in common fields, on the afternoon of June 17, 2024, the two sides met and discussed research topics in science and engineering, construction, environment fields along with scholarship opportunities and student exchange between the two institutes.

Lecturers from Thuyloi University discussed cooperation projects

After the introduction of Deakin University, lecturers from Thuyloi University also presented the research that has been and is being carried out. At the same time, Thuyloi University also expressed its desire to promote short-term student exchange programs, 2+2 or 3+1 forms, to help students have more opportunities to study and exchange internationally in order to improve knowledge and foreign language skills.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides once again affirmed their desire to cooperate in the fields of training, research and creating conditions for students to have opportunities to exchange and study.
