TLU promote international cooperation in education and scientific research

Ten years ago, Thuyloi University and Department of Agriculture, Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences Kyushu University, Japan signed a cooperation agreement on 19 September 2008. The Japanese university was founded in 1919 and is one of the most prestigious universities in the Japan that covers various fields of study.

For the last few years, TLU and Kyudai have implemented many cooperative activities including student and staff exchanges, academic exchange and joint research. The relationship between the two universities have been especially strengthened through joint research projects, typically SOWAC project implemented from 2013 to 2016.

The delegation from Kyudai participating the MOU signing ceremony on 24 September 2018 included Prof. Kazuaki Hiramatsu and Assoc.Prof. Toshinori Tabata. Prof. Trinh Minh Thu, TLU’s President, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Canh Thai, TLU’s Vice President, heads of departments and facuties and TLU’s Kyudai alumni welcomed the delegation.

The MOU manifests the effective exchanges and negotiation with the aim of furthering the understanding and cooperation between TLU and Kyudai in:

- Exchange of student and faculty staff

- Development of joint research programs and projects with opportunities of ODA funding

- Exchange of academic and teaching materials

In addition, the Agreement on Student exchange offers chances one year exchange for both universities’ students. This is a particularly precious chance for TLU’s students to approach an advanced education and the best universities in Japan.

The extension of the MOU between TLU and Kyudai showcases the strong relationship that initiated 10 years ago and represents a new landmark for the cooperation between the two universities. This also indicates a further step of TLU in the university’s progress of international integration.
