Prof. Dr Nguyen Trung Viet, TLU’s Vice President receives the International Outstanding Collaboration Award

On June 10, 2022 in Tokyo, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, Vice President of the Thuyloi University was received the International Outstanding Collaboration Award by the Japan Association of Civil Engineers (JSCE).

JSCE Award program (founded in 1920) recognizes outstanding achievements, remarkable accomplishments, and significant contribution to civil engineering progress. JSCE has developed the award program to further promote the civil engineering profession, encourage civil engineers to achieve their goals, and to introduce technological innovations widely. The awards are conferred at JSCE General Assembly in June every year. This year, more than 100 Japanese and international scientists have received awards in 12 categories such as International Outstanding Collaboration Award, Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award, Environmental Award…

The International Outstanding Collaboration Award was established in 2013. This Award is granted to foreigners around 50 years old, who meet the following conditions: (i) he or she has made contributions to the progress and development of civil engineering and/or infrastructure improvement in Japan or other countries, through the exchange and collaboration with Japan, and (ii) he or she is expected to play an active role in the progress and development of civil engineering in Japan or other countries.

Prof. Viet graduated in Hydraulic Engineering at Thuyloi University. He obtained his PhD from Tohoku University, Japan in 2007. He has become a Professor since 2018. He is currently the Vice President of Thuyloi University. In his career, he has won many prestigious national and international scientific research awards.

The Japan Society of Civil Engineers highly appreciates Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet's contributions to the development of the hydraulic engineering field in Vietnam and joint research activities with Japanese organizations in this field. The award this year is a recognition for the great contributions of the Professor. This is the pride not only of the Professor but also of the Thuyloi University. With the connection of Professor Viet, it is hoped that in the coming years, the cooperation between TLU and Japanese partners will be more and more effective and fruitful.
