Meeting with CEO of Minami Fuji Co., Ltd (Japan)

On 16 March 2018, Thuyloi University had a meeting with Mr. Sugiyama Sadahisa – CEO of Minami Fuji Co., Ltd (Japan).

After the signing ceremony between Thuyloi University (TLU) and Minami Fuji Co., Ltd (Japan) in August 2017, Meister School have established in TLU. In order to enhance the cooperation opportunities of the program, on 16 March 2018, the distinguished guests of Minami Fuji Co., Ltd included: Mr. Sugiyama Sadahisa – CEO of Minami Fuji Co., Ltd (Japan), Mr. Kawashima – Head of Department of Academic Affairs in the Meister School in Vietnam, Ms. Omi Chisa – Coordinator of Meister School in TLU. On behalf of TLU are Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu - the President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai - the Vice President and representatives of related departments and faculties as well as students of Meister School in TLU.

In Vietnam, Minami Fuji Co., Ltd is implementing two large projects: Meister School (targeting engineering students) since 2014 and Global Management College (GMC) with an aim to train leading business managers for Asia. In 2016, Meister School trained more than 160 students with N4-level Japanese competency and other essential skills for working in Japan. The special thing of this program is free of charge for training students and there are no restrictions on recruitment.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu gave the most sincere thanks to Mr. Sugiyama Sadahisa and Minami Fuji Company for the support on training students for free and providing stable job opportunities in Japan after graduation, as well as donating 1,192 Japanese books for TLU.

Discussing with TLU, this is the second time for Mr. CEO to work with TLU’s side. He spent the whole day visiting the facilities, the office, the library and attending a Japanese lecture for TLU students. He highly comprehended the potential of students. Moreover, he expressed his sincere appreciation for the good cooperation from Rector Board to the program.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai, who directly manages the Meister School’s activities from the very beginning, expressed his pleasure at the early success of the program. After nearly 5 months of operation, the program has selected well-qualified 16 students who are graduating and newly graduated in the field of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Economics .etc. They have the potential to meet the requirements in order to apply high level work at the Japanese companies. It is good that Japanese clubs were based in the university. At present, 02 students are recruited to work in Japan and are completing their procedure for traveling to Land of Rising Sun, fulfilling their dreams. They are Phan Thanh Dat and Nguyen Khac Giap - K54 students of TLU. At the meeting, they also shared about the advantages and skills learned from the program as well as the feeling once participating the Meister School.

Besides, the two sides discussed about some new cooperation such as recruiting IT staff for the headquarters of Minami Fuji Co. in Japan; Recruiting graduates according to the requirements of Japanese companies; Inviting experts of Minami Fuji Co. to give lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at TLU .etc.

The development of a training program is the right direction to meet the needs of the employer not only in Japan but also in other countries all over the world. It is strongly believed that the partnership between TLU and Minami Fuji Co. will benefit both sides, contributing to the growth of two nations in general.
