TLU’s students achieve good results at the 29th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad

TLU) - The 29th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad, PROCON Vietnam and International Collegiate Programming Contest  (ICPC)  in Asia 2020 organized by Vietnam Association for Information Processing, Ministry of Education and Training, and Vietnamese Student Association from December 8 to 11, 2020 at the Can Tho University. The contest has witnessed the participant of 700 contestants from 64 universities and colleges nationwide and Asian countries.

The Vietnam Informatics Olympiad is an initiative of Vietnam Informatics Association, Vietnam Students Association and Ministry of Education and Training to motivate the learning movement and encourage young IT talents. Starting in 1992, the contest has been held periodically every year with the participation of a large number of students from universities and colleges throughout the country. Since 2007, the contest has linked to organize at the same time with the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest to become a contest for Vietnamese and Asian students.

 Overview of the contest

The TLU’ team consisted of 8 students and led by Dr.Trương Xuân Nam. The team competed in four contents: IT Specialization, Non-IT Specialization, Super Cup and Asia ICPC. This was the second time the university took part in ICPC.

The team won 3 rd Prizes and 1 Consolation Prize. Specifically:

1. IT Specialization.

- 3rd Prize: Student Trần Kim Tín - Class 58TH2

- Consolation Prize: Student Trịnh Đình Hiếu - Class 60PM2

2. Non-IT Specialization (for first-year IT students or students of other programs)

- 3rd Prize: Student Nguyễn Tuấn Vũ - Class 62TH-NB

3. ICPC teammates

- 3rd National Prize.

TLU’team won 4 prizes at the 29th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad

With good results at the contest, TLU' students successfully completed their task and brought glory to Thuyloi University.
