Sejong University continues offering scholarships to TLU

Sejong University’s delegation visits Thuyloi University

Sejong University is a private university located in Seoul, South Korea and founded in May 1940. It has nine colleges and nine graduate schools. In 2015, it was ranked No. 4 in South Korea and No. 18 in Asia among small and medium-sized universities. So far, two TLU lecturers obtained from Sejong University PhD degree and four are doing PhD in the framework of cooperation under the MOU signed between the two universities in November 2013.

At the meeting, Prof. Jae Hong Lee introduced the overview, strengths and outstanding activities of SU in training, research and technology transfer as well as expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality of TLU. He wished to explore more opportunities for cooperation in education, research and technology transfer between two  universities and extension of the MOU in the coming time.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai, Vice President of TLU, expressed his deep gratitude to SU, especially the graduate scholarships the partner has been offering TLU students and lecturers. He committed to strengthening the support for them to access the advanced education in Korea, especially in SU as studying in Korea is now a popular choice of many Vietnamese students due to the high-quality training combined with reasonable costs and the good ability to get a suitable job after graduation.

The meeting has once again affirmed the close relationship between the two universities in recent years and set up new direction of cooperation in the future. Both SU and TLU hope to implement more cooperation activities in scientific research, exchange more students in short-term courses and provide more scholarships for TLU staff and lecturers to study in Seoul, Korea.
